Thoughts before Léon…
I have to confess that I’m nervous about this journey. There’s nothing familiar ahead of me, outside of my first day in Leon. I’m happy I’ll once again sit in the square outside the cathedral, walk by Gaudi’s bronze likeness outside the museum, sit with other pilgrims, enjoying my cortado and pastry. The path though - it’s unfamiliar and supposedly very challenging, but like all difficult parts of the Camino, it gives you beauty in exchange for hardship. I must remind myself - I know how to walk, and I know how to push myself forward, especially when it’s what seems to be a vertical climb. So maybe it’s not so unfamiliar after all.
